WHAT IS DOORWAYS?
Doorways is a trauma-informed, pre-employment program designed to support survivors of violence and/or abuse.
Doorways recognizes that survivors often face external challenges that make finding and maintaining employment challenging. We will work with you to identify your needs and build a plan that meets you where you are at, supports your personal and employment readiness skills, and reduces barriers to finding sustainable employment.
Participants will have access to a full range of financial supports (e.g. living supports while in program, plus additional supports such as childcare, transportation, work clothing and more), free one-on-one personal counselling, and customized Employment Counselling by our highly skilled staff.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Individuals who identify as survivors of violence and/or abuse.
WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM RUN?
You can start anytime!
Doorways group sessions provide opportunities for both self-identified women and self-identified men. The program strives to be trans-inclusive, as well as inclusive of non-binary and diverse gender identities. We recognize that gender is not binary and as such, we strive to continue to build more inclusive access to all our employment programs.
