Kootenay Career Development Society a leader in employee satisfaction
Central Kootenays—Kootenay Career Development Society (KCDS) has gone from being a great place to work to being one of the best places to work in all of Canada, according to leading consulting firm Great Place to Work.
Great Place to Work is an independent organization that analyzes empirical data collected from thousands of employees around the country. It measures such qualities as credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.
KCDS was ranked 23rd in Canada in the “less than 100 employees” category, an “incredible achievement,” according to Jocelyn Carver, the executive director for KCDS.
“This is the first year KCDS has participated in this survey. To place so well is a testament that we’ve managed to attract and retain a team of extremely talented employees who are passionate and committed to the work we do and to how we work together – and the clients and communities we serve,” suggested Carver.
KCDS was also recognized as a top organization for mental wellness, as well as being one of the best workplaces in Canada for women.
KCDS has 47 staff in its Nelson, Castlegar and Trail offices. When asked what makes the organization so special, employees reported it as being caring, respectful, supportive, innovative, creative, progressive and inclusive.
KCDS delivers a variety of workforce development and employment services in the Kootenay region.
