What is Career Connect?
Career Connect is a 6-week social networking program offering job search support, job placements, industry-specific certifications, and direct connections to employers.
The current Industry focus is the Social Service Sector!
Access:
- Development of Workplace Skills and Job Search Supports
- Funding for Certificate Training like First Aid, LivingWorks START, De-escalation Training, and others
- Self Marketing Workshops
- Wage Subsidies
- Peer Support Groups
- Conflict Resolution and Professional Communication Sessions
WHO CAN APPLY?
Candidates must be:
- Living in British Columbia;
- Not receiving duplicative financial supports from another provincially or federally funded labour market program, though may be receiving complementary, non-duplicative financial supports from other programs, such as WorkBC, that enable or enhance program participation;
- Unemployed or Precariously Employed; and
- Individuals who self-identify as facing two or more barriers to employment
