Worker Retention Grant for Work-Sharing Employers

A federal program that helps employers avoid temporary layoffs during periods of reduced business activity beyond their control. Through a three-party agreement with employees and Service Canada, eligible employees work reduced hours and receive Employment Insurance income support while the business recovers.

Tax Relief for Businesses Affected by Tariffs

In response to tariff impacts, the Government of Canada introduced temporary CRA relief measures to support businesses. These include deferred GST/HST remittances and corporate income tax payments, as well as waived and deferred interest on eligible GST/HST and T2 balances between April 2 and June 30, 2025. Businesses must continue to file all required returns by their regular deadlines, with interest resuming as of July 1, 2025.
