FAQs

How is coaching different from KCDS's programs?

KCDS’ programs are supported through government and community funding. Like any funded service, those programs come with eligibility requirements and structure, and the support is shaped in part by those guidelines.

Coaching is different. It is open to anyone, regardless of employment status or circumstances. There are no forms, program rules, or eligibility criteria. You focus on whatever matters most to you, and the work goes at your pace for as long as you find it useful.

What if I'm not sure what I need?

That’s completely normal, and honestly, it’s one of the most common reasons people reach out. Helping you figure out what you need is very much part of what coaching involves.

A good place to start is our free 15-minute consultation. It’s a no-pressure conversation that helps you get a feel for coaching and points you in the right direction. And if the answer doesn’t come right away, that’s okay too. Our bundle option gives you the space to get there, with every fourth appointment on us.

Are sessions online or in-person?

Sessions are offered online, so you can connect from wherever you are. If you’re in the Nelson area, you also have the option to meet in person.

Joining online is straightforward. After you book, you’ll receive a link to your virtual meeting. No downloads or installs needed.

Is this a good fit for young adults?

Absolutely. The early stages of work, from choosing a career direction to pursuing that first job, can feel overwhelming. Coaching offers a supportive space to build confidence, set goals, and take real steps forward. Young adults can book on their own, and it’s also something families sometimes arrange together as a way to invest in someone’s future.

Ready to move forward in your career?

A coaching session could be the fresh perspective you need.
