Career Connect and HEadwaters
Career Connect and Headwaters are FREE employment programs offering industry-specific training, along with mental health support and soft skill development to help you build the skills needed to work in fields like Social Services and Bookkeeping.
Program Length: 6 weeks (additional 1-1 support for achieving employment is available, if needed).
Location: Virtual, with some in-person sessions, if applicable

We offer the programs four times a year, each with a different industry focus. Cohort dates may be subject to change.
- April 28 – June 6: Social Services
 - June 16 – July 25: Bookkeeping
 - September 22 – October 31: Bookkeeping
 - November 10 – December 12: Social Services

Access training specific to the job you’re aiming for in your chosen field, including…
- Social Services – Naloxone, First Aid, Suicide Prevention, Addictions Care, Mental Health First Aid, WHMIS, FoodSafe, and more.
 - Bookkeeping – Accounting basics, Sage 50 Software.
 
Peer Support and Networking:
Be part of a supportive community of peers who are also searching for work. Build connections for future job opportunities!
Mental Health Supports:
We’ll also help you focus on your personal well-being and growth. Each program included designated time to explore strategies to support your well-being.
Financial Supports:
Access funding for work clothing and footwear, transportation and childcare to help you look for and start work.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Candidates must be:
- Live in British Columbia
 - Are unemployed, underemployed or precariously employed
 - Are not receiving duplicative (the same) financial supports from another provincially or federally funded labour market program (though, may be receiving complementary, non-duplicative supports from other programs, such as WorkBC)
 - Are not currently enrolled in full time school
